As a girl who grew up in the church, I thought knowing of God, and doing what everyone else did was enough to say that I was a follower of Christ. However, the cracks and holes in my being that only got bigger over time and eventually leading to a series of unfolding events, would prove differently. Believing more in the systems of faith than the faith itself, the definition of religion, was not enough to hold against the sins and ignorance of the world, my flesh, and anything that influenced and capitalized on the in-between. Following Christ is not a routine it’s a life. Jesus did not come down to follow a routine, to follow the law. That’s why it didn’t make sense to the pharisees. Jesus said He came to fulfill the law because He is the law. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And then the scriptures goes down to say then the Word became flesh and lived among us. In the beginning was Christ, and Christ was with God, and Christ was God. God’s head three in one. The Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived the law becuase He believed it, it became a part of His mortality, not the doctrine itself. The pharisees lived by doctrine, Jesus carried out the purpose of the doctrine. The letter killed but the Spirit gives life. The word is the alive. It is the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. What am I saying? Following Christ is not a doctrine, it is a way of life and from the Holy Spirit that is within you. Moses was given a doctrine, becuase the people were not listening to the wisdom of the Lord, and so He had to place a doctrine, a set standard for them, a specific instruction to keep them out of trouble and to keep them in alignment with God. Like trying to keep a child who isn’t listening out of trouble or from drifting to far way as to not get in trouble. This brings me back full circle to the relationship of God being the process of becoming one with the Lord. We were made in his images, meaning we were made to be in alignment with Him and to move as one with God. Meaning my heart reflects His heart, my will reflects His will, my understanding reflects His understanding, my sight reflects His sight, my thoughts reflect His thoughts. We are not Him but we are living vessels for Him to move through us. That’s why we decrease that He may increase in us. He created us, named us, appointed us before we entered our mother’s womb, He created us perfectly in alignment with Him, as we were made in the image of Christ. And then we entered the word, which is corrupted by sin and became sinners. That’s why the Scripture says be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Your mind is subjective, it’s like your soul. When Christ made you everything was set to develope in alignment with Christ. So to renew something is to bring back to. So be transformed by bring your mind back into the alignment of God. Christ is the law, so by following Jesus, building your relationship with Jesus, you will fulfill the law more and more because Christ is the law and He is within you more and more. That is why its a life not a routine. That is why its about the relationship more than the power or purpose. These fruits will be produced by relationship that is build with Christ. Another revelation that was given to me about relationships is that the way Christ designed relationship is consistent in its reflection across the board of how relationship look and are created with each other. Just like God meant for man and woman to become one in marriage. And much like you get to know someone on Earth is much like how you get to know the Lord. As I began my relationship with Christ it taught me a new standard of how relationship are supposed to be like that are healthy and fruitful. One most important thing that the Lord taught me about love is that it is unconditional across the board. It is the same. So if I am having to meet conditions to recieve it, it is not love. It is the counterfeit of love, has all the looks and beauty of it but no fulfillment or substance, sometimes even destructive. I cannot think of one thing I did or had to do to recieve the love of God waiting for me at the door once I opened it and still to this day, that holds to as I continue to recieve His love. Truly, I say to you, there is no greater that you will recieve than to calapse into the arms of the one who created you, the Father.
